Judges’ scores are in

Our esteemed judging panel met on Thursday 18 October to determine this year’s finalists. The awards, which celebrate excellence in the field of property investment and which are now in their fourth year, offered intense and passionate debate as the judges assessed each of the nominees. This year’s winners are set to be announced at a sparkling ceremony at the Royal National Hotel in Russell Square, London, on the evening of Saturday 1 December. Richard Bowser, Property Investor News commented: “Each year the category nominees grow and the quality of entries gets better and better”. Vanish Patel, Property Networking Club, added: “The judges have seen a record number of applicants today.”

On Thursday, experts in a range of fields including property development, investments, law, finance and insurance gathered to debate which of the nominations were most deserving of the titles on offer. The day was kindly hosted by Howard Kennedy at its beautiful offices at London Bridge.

This year ‘Finance Broker of the Year’ debuted as a new category. In addition, there are two new awards which were decided by public vote (Property Website of the Year and Property Facebook Group of the Year). Ranjan Bhattacharya, Baker Street Property Meet, has been a judge since the awards first started. He explained: “Market conditions are quite different for investing from when the awards first began. As a result, nominees are finding more creative ways of doing successful property deals. Judging these awards in these times is more exciting because of the creativity out there.”

Paul Higgs, Millbank Group, explained what the awards mean to him: “The awards support people who are looking to create value and that deserves to be rewarded”. When asked why he originally got involved in the awards three years ago, he responded: “To help and encourage people that are into the bigger picture. It’s all about creating value and doing things properly.”

More than 500 attendees are expected to attend the awards ceremony on Saturday 1 December when the winners will be revealed, at what’s certain to be a fun-packed evening for nominees and guests alike. Finalists will be announced by the end of October and we wish all of the finalists the best of luck at the ceremony.
